Employment-based Visas

America's highest-skilled workers are being displaced from their professions by employment-based visas:

  • H-1b: Congress has authorized employers to sponsor and hire foreign workers regardless of whether qualified Americans are available to fill the positions. Employers can legally force Americans to train their foreign H-1b replacements as a condition of receiving a severance package.
  • L-1: Congress has authorized employers to bring foreign workers into the U.S. for one year while continuing to pay them their foreign wage level.
  • PERM: Congress has authorized employers to sponsor foreign workers for green cards by simply running a few classified ads and then to find any reason possible to disqualify all American applicants.

Contribute

Hire Americans First does not charge membership dues. We are providing the means of rebutting corporate lobbyists by demonstrating numbers and contacts of U.S. workers who have been impacted by H-1b, and a means for the media to reach these workers.

You can make either a one-time or a recurring contribution. While we appreciate even $5 per month, note that our opposition Immigration Voice sets a minimum $50 per month for recurring contributions. They raised $200,000 in 2006, allowing them to hire top lobbying firm Patton Boggs to advocate for increases in H-1b and green card quotas.

All funds go to reimbursement of expenses and services necessary to advance our cause. Currently contributions are used to fund the costs of hosting this site. Once those costs are met the funds will be used to further lobbying efforts against the H-1b and related job displacement programs.

Our PayPal contribution history, with the names of contributors redacted, is available upon request.
